ATA Carnet Specifics
The ATA Carnet is NOT allowed for household effects, motor vehicles and any other related equipment entering for the purpose of immigration, contract work or temporary work permits.
- If traveling to BLNS states (Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, and Swaziland) additional White sets are required
- For Carnets validated into South Africa, Holders must obtain validation out of South Africa when traveling to any BLNS states
- If Carnets are not validated by South Africa, Holders do not need validation out of South Africa.
- In and out of BLNS states is not recognized by SARS Customs as evidence of re-exportation though BLNS are part of the South African Customs Union (SACU)
